Bio:
Akram Gholami is a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering at UC Merced. She works on modeling, simulating and controlling robots. She is interested in developing and testing control algorithms for regulating a robot to perform a specific task. Currently, for her Ph.D. project, she is working on developing a strawberry harvesting robot. She is using neural networks and visual feedback control, and the goal in this project is to develop a control system that does not depend on the kinematic and dynamic modeling of the robot, and it can adapt to the changes in the system and interacts within a dense crop.
