Bio:
Mahmoud Y. Abido is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Aerospace Engineering from Cairo University, Egypt. Abido worked as a teaching assistant in a variety of courses related to Mathematics, Physics, Mechanical, and Aerospace engineering from Sep. 2014 to Dec. 2020 at four different universities. He was appointed lecturer assistant in Aerospace Engineering Department, at Cairo University just before joining UC Merced in Jan. 2020. During the last two years, Abido published and contributed to publishing a set of journal articles and conference papers. His current research interest is related to the rule of long-duration energy storage (LDES) in decarbonizing the power sector and achieving net-zero carbon emissions goals.
