Bio: 
A central valley native, Bethany grew up in Ceres and Modesto, CA. She is a founding member of UC Merced’s chapters for the Society of Women Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. After completing her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering 2009, she continued her education at UC Merced completing her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics in 2011. Upon completion of her master’s degree, Bethany was the course instructor at UC Merced for Mechanics of Materials during the Summer 2011 semester before beginning her career with E. & J. Gallo Winery, in August of 2011. During her tenure with E&J Gallo Winery, she has held positions of increasing responsibility across multiple departments in Engineering including Capital Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, Start-up Management and Packaging Engineering at multiple locations within the company. In her current role as the Senior Manager for Winery Systems Engineering at the Livingston, CA facility, she leads a team of engineers focused on continuous improvement. Her team focuses on leading cross-functional, continuous improvement projects that deliver large step changes in quality, efficiency, and capacity with minimal capital investments. The team also works on new technology exploration and implementation for the winery at the commercial scale.
