YangQuan Chen's Mechtronics, Embedded Systems and Automation Laboratory (MESA Lab) is the featured cover story in the inaugural issue of UC Merced Magazine, a glossy publication produced by University Communications in the fall and spring.
The feature story, written by professional journalist Adam Ashton, focuses specifically on the lab's work with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, and the numerous non-military uses for them. Graduate students Sean Rider and Brandon Stark are quoted in the story, in addition to Chen and others.
